Viyanmani is actively exploring strategic partnerships with established European recycling, refining and metallurgical technology companies to develop advanced recycling capabilities in India.

The Proposition

Complementary strengths, not overlapping ones

The logic of a Germany–India partnership in this sector is straightforward. German and wider European companies hold decades of accumulated process technology, engineering discipline, and environmental practice in metallurgy and recycling. What is increasingly hard to find in Europe is the combination of growing secondary feedstock and an operating cost base that makes marginal streams viable.

Viyanmani has the second half of that equation, and is candid about needing the first. We are not seeking a supplier relationship or a badge — we are seeking a technical partner whose process capability genuinely extends what we can do, and we expect to contribute the site, the capital, the material, and the people that make it work in India.

  • Indian Infrastructure

    An operating, access-controlled plant in an established Gujarat industrial estate, with the pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical sections, laboratory, and utilities already in place.

  • Investment

    Capital commitment to the Indian entity — site, buildings, equipment, and working capital — so a partner's contribution can be weighted toward technology rather than cash.

  • Feedstock Sourcing

    Established collection channels for spent autocatalysts, chemical catalysts, electronic scrap, and industrial residues across one of the world's fastest-growing vehicle parcs.

  • Workforce

    Trained plant operators, chemists, and metallurgists, and the ability to recruit and scale a technical team at Indian cost levels.

  • Local Regulatory Support

    Familiarity with Indian environmental and hazardous-waste regulation, pollution-control board procedure, import and customs formalities, and company-law compliance.

  • Local Market Access

    Relationships across Indian automotive, chemical, petrochemical, electronics, and jewellery sectors — both as sources of feed material and as customers for refined metal.

  • Technology

    Proven, industrially demonstrated process technology for recovery, separation, and refining — including routes Viyanmani does not currently operate.

  • Process Know-How

    The operating knowledge that does not appear in a flowsheet: reagent regimes, control strategies, yield optimisation, and troubleshooting built up over years of production.

  • Engineering

    Basic and detailed engineering, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, layout, and the safety and environmental design standards expected in European practice.

  • Equipment

    Specification, supply, or sourcing of specialised process equipment — furnaces, scrubbing systems, solvent-extraction circuits, and analytical instrumentation.

  • Training

    Structured training for operators, laboratory staff, and engineers, whether at the partner's facility in Europe or on site in India during commissioning.

  • Technical Support

    Ongoing technical support after commissioning — remote assistance, periodic audits, process reviews, and access to the partner's continuing R&D.

The Rationale

Why this combination works

German engineering, Indian scale

European process technology is mature and proven but faces high operating costs and, in several streams, limited domestic feed. India has the opposite profile: growing feedstock and competitive costs, with less access to advanced process technology.

An operating plant, not a greenfield

Viyanmani already refines precious metals at a working facility in Gujarat. A partner is not funding a site search and a construction programme before seeing anything work.

Regulatory tailwind on both sides

European extended producer responsibility and critical-raw-material policy are pushing companies to secure recycled supply, while India's tightening waste rules favour formal, compliant processors.

A staged commitment

The relationship can begin with a toll-processing trial that risks very little on either side, and deepen into licensing or shared equity only once the technical and commercial case is demonstrated.
